Summary

In the town of Linzi, Weng Zhi's daughter, married to scholar Li Sheng, faced a predicted fate of punishment from authorities. Despite her father's dismissive attitude, she became abusive towards Li Sheng, prompting him to seek help from the local magistrate, Duke Shao. Although Li Sheng wished to retract his complaint, the magistrate insisted on proceeding with the case. Ultimately, the daughter was punished with thirty lashes. The Chronicler of Odd Histories criticized the magistrate's involvement in domestic matters, noting that wise magistrates eliminate fierce women from their towns.
