Summary

A tale of an unlikely romance between Sun Zi Chu, a slow-witted yet sincere man, and A Bao, a beautiful merchant's daughter. Initially mocked for his foolishness, Sun Zi Chu proves his devotion by severing his fingers to meet A Bao's condition. After a mystical encounter where he follows her spiritually and transforms into a parrot, A Bao falls in love with his pure heart. Despite his poverty, she marries him, and their family prospers. Tragedy strikes when Sun Zi Chu dies, but miraculously returns to life after being appointed a position in the underworld due to his honesty.
