Summary

Cao Yun and her family go out for dinner at a tavern due to the kitchen being closed. They stroll along a picturesque river, where Li Yan Qing points out the nearby Qujiang Music Academy, suggesting Jiao Jiao and Bao Niang could study there. Jiao Jiao resists the idea, but her spirits lift when Bao Yan suggests they can explore shops for birds later. Arriving at the Qujiang Wazi, they experience a lively flower market before heading to the tavern, where they enjoy a warm and inviting dining room. Jiao Jiao begs for wine, and after some negotiation, she is allowed a small cup. The atmosphere shifts when Governor Yang Xu Zhou arrives, drunk and making inappropriate comments about meeting Cao Yun. Tensions rise, but Li Yan Qing manages the situation, sending Yang away with the help of other officials. The family resumes their meal, sharing stories and laughter. Li Yan Qing mentions an upcoming martial arts competition, encouraging Aoi to demonstrate her skills, impressively hitting two wine cups with a dagger.
