Summary

In an ordinary morning, Song Tao, weakened by illness, is unexpectedly summoned by a young official to attend an exam. Despite his frailty, he follows on a white horse to a grand city and enters a palace where he encounters officials, including the renowned Guan Di Shen. After completing an essay that impresses the deities, Song Tao learns he has been chosen as the City God of Henan but requests nine years to care for his mother. The gods agree, assigning another scholar to take his place temporarily. After nine years, Song Tao returns home but finds his mother has passed away, leading to deep sorrow.
