Summary
In the chaotic twilight of the Ming Dynasty, scholar Wang Xue's home becomes a battleground for bandits and rebels, leading to devastation and bloodshed. After the military quells the uprising, Wang Xue faces haunting supernatural occurrences, feeling the presence of vengeful spirits. A new tenant, Wang Huan Di, experiences terrifying whispers and cries at night. In desperation, Wang Xue seeks help through spiritual ceremonies, offering food to the spirits. Remarkably, an old gatekeeper, Wang Tou, awakens from a coma claiming to have dined with the ghosts.
