Summary

A serpent handler owned two green snakes, Er Qing and Da Qing. After Da Qing's death, Er Qing disappeared but later returned with a smaller snake called Little Qing. The handler trained and cared for them, eventually releasing Little Qing in the eastern hills. Despite attempts to part ways, the snakes maintained a strong bond. Years later, Er Qing, now massive, chased the handler but recognized him. The handler advised the snakes to stay in the mountains and not disturb travelers. The two snakes then disappeared into the forest, leaving the handler reflecting on their remarkable companionship and intelligence.
