Summary

Zhao Meng, a Loufan herder, tends to his livestock on the expansive grasslands, where he and fellow herders work diligently under the watchful eyes of Han cavalry. Following the War of Mayi, the Han Dynasty settled the Loufan people, integrating them into a township system. Zhao Meng's home life is filled with simple joys, as he and his wife, Xijun, manage their livestock and plan for the future. However, their tranquility is disrupted when the village bell signals a call to arms from the Emperor. Zhao Meng prepares for battle, leaving his family in the care of two herder refugees, embodying the loyalty and traditions of his people while readying himself to serve the Han Dynasty.
