Summary

Xu Liao, showing compassion despite not being the most justice-driven, decides to accompany Ma Yao Guan Bai, a former police officer turned monster, to a special area for young monsters. Ma Yao Guan Bai shares his backstory, revealing his injuries and how he awakened the bloodline of a horse monster, which granted him speed and endurance. Despite his average strength, he has a passion for helping others, although he often faces danger alone due to his colleagues' laziness. As they arrive at the elementary school for young monsters, Xu Liao admires the well-equipped facilities. Ma Yao Guan Bai expresses his limitations and encourages Xu Liao to pursue other missions for rewards, but Xu Liao chooses to stay with him. They find a rooftop to observe the school, and Xu Liao goes to buy drinks. Upon returning, Xu Liao hears screams and rushes to find Ma Yao Guan Bai being attacked by Tang Leng, a former target of his mission. Ma Yao Guan Bai is injured but bravely protects the children. Tang Leng threatens to kill the children for revenge against Guan Bai.
