Summary

Broza led the cavalry to the city, demanding to see Zhuole. After the battle ended, the Sui army began cleaning up and preparing defenses, having killed all Turkic soldiers inside the city. Wei Wen Tong devised a plan to trick Broza with a fake command from the Khan, which resulted in Broza being injured by an arrow. The Sui army took advantage of the chaos to strengthen their defenses and prepare for further actions. Wei Wen Tong discovered that the city had ample grain supplies and even found frozen meat in the weapons warehouse, which boosted morale. The Sui army's successful surprise attack on Loufan Pass significantly disrupted the Turkic forces. Chuluo Khan, enraged by the loss and Broza's injury, blamed Kang Qiaoli and demanded the pass be retaken. Meanwhile, Kang Qiaoli realized the gravity of the situation and began mobilizing his remaining troops to address the crisis.
