Summary

In the story, Ji Gang and Ji Rao are confronted by their cousin Wu Da, who is sternly guarding the doorway. Wu Da intends to teach Ji Gang a lesson, but Ji Gang is eager to go to the county town for business. Wu Da pours Ji Gang a drink, which he initially resists, suspecting a trick. Ji Rao, however, quickly succumbs to the effects of the drink. Wen Jing Hui observes the situation, hoping for positive results from the herbal wine they are distributing. Despite their efforts, no one seems to feel any effects from the wine. The next day, instead of going to the county, Wu Da takes the family into the mountains to gather wood and hunt rabbits, emphasizing the importance of managing local wildlife to protect crops.
