Summary

Ezaki Naoha has no attachment to the position of the family head, and feels she could live a normal life even without the privileges that come with it. However, the responsibilities and expectations associated with the role are overwhelming her. She knows that after her arranged marriage, her uncles will try to interfere and push her to compete with her brother for the position, which her mother hopes to see. Ezaki Naoha is feeling very confused and contemplates a drastic escape from her current situation. She receives a call from Sawayama Haruno, a writer she knows, and realizes the news of her trip to Kyoto will soon reach her family, adding more pressure on her. Sawayama Haruno notices Ezaki Naoha's pensive mood and tries to reassure her, suggesting she doesn't have to force herself to eat if she's not hungry.
