Summary

Chen Wei and Sha Wu Jing, under Ao Lie's pressure, abandon their previous travel methods, seeking mysterious fire fragments in populated areas. As they journey through the autumn-colored Demon's Highway, Chen Wei practices his swordsmanship, achieving a moment of enlightenment. They encounter Hua Wu Ming, a struggling scholar, who reveals that the once-prosperous Food City is now plagued by heavy taxes, driving many, including pregnant women, to seek refuge in the woods. Despite warnings to avoid the city, Chen Wei remains determined to investigate. Suddenly, they are confronted by a flock of giant birds, which are revealed to be humans riding them, demanding surrender from the crowd.
