Summary
Li Dao Zheng was satisfied with their new house, which had a large area and intricately carved red wood furniture. However, he was dissatisfied with the garage, swimming pool, and sauna room. Li Su, a hedonist, believed these features were meant for his pleasure and cleaned the pool, filling it with water, and inviting his father to try it out. Later, Li Su informed his father that they had become rich due to their business in Chang'an City, which included a type of wine and a movable-type printing technique. The Emperor had granted them exclusive permission to operate in the city. Li Dao Zheng was shocked and eventually overwhelmed with joy upon learning of their newfound wealth. A registrar's clerk, Hu, arrived at their home to discuss a marriage proposal for Li Su, as he was considered a young adult and it was time for him to get married.Full content
