Chapter 929: Discovering the Enemy's Tracks. [933]

Summary

Jishan, named after the sage Jizi, is a sparsely populated area on the eastern bank of the Great Ocean River, characterized by hilly terrain and a few cattle farms. Last autumn, cattle from Jishan failed to reach the market due to an overabundance in Beihai County. Two scouts from the Sui army observe a cattle farm and notice suspicious activity, leading to the discovery of Turkic individuals slaughtering cattle. The scouts report their findings to General Liu Lan Cheng, who strategizes an attack on the Turkic group hidden in a valley. After preparing fireballs to create a diversion, Liu Lan Cheng leads his troops to ambush the Turkic merchants, who had been planning a raid on Northern Sui. The Turkic forces, under High Priest Aaron, had been hiding due to recent military setbacks, but their location was compromised by their need for supplies.
