The Great Idle Person of the Zhenguan Era.
Chapter 91: British Royal Residence. [92]
Summary
Li Su greatly admired his own intuition, having privately nicknamed Cheng Yaojin the "Old Rogue" from the moment they met. Cheng Yaojin's drunken behavior had cost him dearly, and he was now facing the consequences of molesting a young woman on the street. A group of bailiffs arrived, but they were too afraid to punish the national duke. The leader of the group approached Li Su, asking him to persuade Cheng Yaojin to return home. Li Su denied knowing Cheng Yaojin, but the old rogue grabbed him and slung him over his shoulder, taking him to the residence of Li Xuan, the Duke of England. The Tang Dynasty's military generals were a dominant force in the imperial court, but their private relationships were not as harmonious as outsiders might imagine. Cheng Yaojin, drunk, would often look for Li Xuan to pick a fight. Upon arriving at the Li residence, Li Xuan was not pleased, knowing that the day would not end well. Li Xuan ignored Cheng Yaojin but was taken aback upon seeing Li Su, his gaze scrutinizing him and making Li Su feel uneasy.Full content
