Chapter 907: Bamboo Rat Knocks the Bell. [906]

Summary

In the Death Forest, bamboo rats must ride the Hei He river every hundred years. An ancient, dilapidated tower stands at its end, covered in cobwebs and moss. A large bell, adorned with dragon and phoenix designs, resides in a bamboo pavilion nearby. The large bamboo rat, having guarded this area for millennia, reveals to Ouyang Ming that the tower has existed for ten thousand years and that ringing the bell is a long-standing mission of their clan. Despite its strength, the large bamboo rat has been unable to ring the bell, which has not sounded in a millennium. Ouyang Ming learns that he may be the one destined to ring it, requiring a drop of his essence blood to do so. As the blood merges with the bell, intricate patterns emerge, illuminating the surroundings.
