Chapter 9: Why Are There No Flowers!. [8]
Summary
Shido warns Mr. Wen Shi that while he is not an enemy, he will not assist them, leaving their next actions up to them. Mr. Wen Shi acknowledges this and departs with his companions, aware of the chaos surrounding the Bone Spirit Chariot and the One-Eyed Dragon. Qin Jiaxian, however, stays behind, intrigued by the lair of the silk-spinning spiders and questioning Yi Xian Sheng about the identity of a corpse he claims is the Sky Emperor. Yi Xian Sheng remains evasive, leading to a tense exchange where Qin Jiaxian expresses suspicion about Yi Xian Sheng's knowledge. Yi Xian Sheng hints at the danger of staying too long, urging Qin Jiaxian to leave. Meanwhile, a muscular man named Yi Tu Yong confronts Yi Xian Sheng, seeking revenge for the death of his friend Tian Luo Ying. Yi Xian Sheng, caught between fear and the desire to reveal information, eventually shares that the Bone Spirit Chariot took Tian Luo Ying's body to nourish a baby girl and that the chariot is preparing for a deadly confrontation. Yi Tu Yong is determined to avenge his friend despite Yi Xian Sheng's warnings about the chariot's power. As the Bone Spirit Chariot moves through the forest, it is injured but remains confident in its plans. The three elders pursuing it suspect that Yi Xian Sheng's background is significant and consider the possibility that he is connected to the mysterious Su Huan Zhen. The Bone Spirit Chariot senses it is being followed and hastens its pace toward a luxurious location marked by the gates of "Wang Yun Lou."Full content
