Summary

An Zheng stands on the balcony of an inn in Garuda City, reflecting on the aftermath of a brutal battle. Despite the lingering stench of blood, life continues, with a stone tablet honoring fallen warriors surrounded by flowers. Du Shoushou joins him, expressing concern for a missing monkey and discussing An Zheng's plans to return to Huadu alone. She gives him a jade pendant for teleportation and they share playful banter about their relationships. An Zheng prepares to leave, instructing Du Shoushou and Chen Shao Bai to keep things under wraps. Meanwhile, a merchant caravan enters the city, led by Yu Wen Wu Ming and a determined woman from the Yuwen family, contemplating their choices. An old Daoist enters Jinling, attracting attention with his fortune-telling banner, before being welcomed by a eunuch from the palace.
