Summary

Liu Yan, the 20-year-old king of Jiang Du, feels pride in his rule, supported by esteemed elders. Despite his accomplishments, he yearns for Han Dan and believes he is the rightful candidate for Zhao Guo's leadership. Yuan Ang, his advisor, recognizes Liu Yan's ambitions and manipulates his desires for his own gain. Liu Yan's brothers, each with their flaws, make him feel more qualified for power, yet he worries about his emperor brother's disapproval. Yuan Ang, understanding Liu Yan's simplicity, sees an opportunity to control him and fulfill his own aspirations for influence in Long An.
