Summary

In Taiyuan City, the gates have been reinforced with thick wood and iron, making them difficult to breach. The Song army conducts tests with thunder bombs to prepare for a potential attack by the Jin soldiers, who previously used similar bombs to break through. After several failed attempts, they confirm that the Jin's bombs are less effective, but a series of explosions could still pose a threat. Li Yan Qing decides to form a specialized anti-explosion army to counter this. Meanwhile, the Song army recruits 50,000 new soldiers, many former troops, and begins training them under Liu Qi. Li Yan Qing inspires the soldiers with a speech about unity and strength against the Jin forces. The training is intense, aimed at building a cohesive fighting force. Li Yan Qing also plans logistical improvements, including relocating families into the city for better morale and rooting out potential spies. Meanwhile, Jin Deputy Commander Wan Yan Chang learns of the Song forces in Taiyuan and feels motivated to confront Li Yan Qing, ordering his troops to march quickly towards the city.
