Chapter 89: Rooster Crowing. [94]

Summary

A high school reunion leads to a conversation with a former classmate Chen, who works as a technical supervisor at a large construction company. Chen shares a mysterious incident during a road construction project in the Dadu River District. While demolishing an area, they encountered an inexplicable problem with a 100-year-old house near an old grave site. Despite multiple attempts, construction equipment malfunctioned, and workers who tried to demolish the house were mysteriously injured. Workers even reported hearing a rooster crow at midnight, which the narrator suggests is a potentially dangerous supernatural sign. The house remained standing, defying all demolition efforts.
