Summary

After a few days of rest in a wooden cabin, Han Sen, despite his severe injuries, begins to regain mobility. He learns about the Thorn Shelter and its lowly status for humans like him, who must perform menial tasks to survive. Qu Lan Xi and Chu Ming, fellow humans, have struggled for years to cultivate the Ink Jade Sword Tree, hoping for a bountiful harvest. However, their hopes are dashed when Han Sen inadvertently drains the tree's life force. As he recovers, he reflects on the old Long Xue Gu Shu tree in the yard, which holds a faint trace of life, hinting at its unique origins tied to a mutated gene seed.
