The Cold Door Hero

Summary

During a stormy night, a small group of Jin soldiers at the North Gate is ambushed and killed by Yan Qing and his men. They swiftly take control of the gate and use sleeping gas to incapacitate over a hundred sleeping Jin soldiers in the tower. As dawn breaks, Li Yan Qing addresses captured Jin soldiers, condemning their betrayal and ordering their execution, which is met with cheers from the townsfolk. Meanwhile, Wanyan Loushi, leading a retreat of Jin soldiers, faces an avalanche triggered by the Song army's explosives. Panic ensues as soldiers scramble to escape, resulting in heavy casualties. Wanyan Loushi survives but finds himself with only a fraction of his troops, trapped by the snow. Efforts to find an escape route lead to the realization that the terrain is treacherous and offers no way out.
