Chapter 88: The Family Feast of Warmth and Conflict. [87]

Summary

In this chapter, Sawayama Haruno visits the Miyazawa household, where he experiences tension between Maki Miyazawa and her mother, Gong Ze Mu Qin. Maki's rebellious nature is displayed as she defies her mother's cold demeanor by sitting very close to Haruno, which makes the atmosphere tense. Despite this, Gong appears more interested in Haruno's well-being than in addressing the situation directly. Haruno attempts to keep Maki calm during their conversation, showing maturity and respect. After the visit, Haruno returns home and is reflective while cleaning, likening his responsibilities to that of a househusband. He takes care of tasks like tidying up the house and managing laundry, all while thinking fondly of Maki. He notices some discoloration on his underwear but chooses not to dwell on it. The chapter ends with a brief introduction to Ezaki Zhi Ren, who arrives at the mansion of her mentor, Mine Shiori, for their training session, highlighting her ongoing struggles in her studies.
