Summary

In Chapter 88, Prince Zhao Hong Run and twenty Munue arrive in Yanling, a strategically significant location amid tensions between Wei and Chu. The Yan River serves as a natural barrier, but the Chu army, numbering over fifty thousand, poses a significant threat. Despite having over ten thousand defenders, morale is low due to previous defeats. Local officials, including County Magistrate Pei Zhan and Military Commander Chen Shi, debate strategies but lack military experience. The situation shifts when news arrives of Zhao Hong Run and Grand General Bai Li Ba's deployment to support Yanling, raising hopes among the officials.
