Chapter 878: A True Man Has His Principles and Boundaries. [879]

Summary

In the chapter "Luo Yang," the Cao Wei army, led by Sima Yi, prepares for a critical battle against the Han army, commanded by Liu Bei. As tension builds, Liu Bei orders an attack with siege machines that have previously proven effective. Despite Sima Yi's desperate commands for his troops to shoot fire arrows, they struggle against the Han's well-positioned archers. Amidst the chaos, Wang Chang, a loyal Wei general, is sent on a suicide mission by Sima Yi. However, he is intercepted by Guan Yu, who persuades him to surrender instead of dying in vain. Wang Chang ultimately chooses to join the Han army, gaining the honor of carrying Guan Yu's blade. Meanwhile, Sima Yi faces mounting pressure as the city's defenses weaken and morale declines. Cao Rui, the emperor, remains indifferent to the battle's outcome, leading to Sima Yi's frustration. He realizes that surrendering would mean certain death for him, while Cao Rui plans to use the situation to negotiate a peaceful retirement.
