Summary

In the morning, Ye Feng wakes up early, prepares breakfast, and goes to wake Lan Er, who is peacefully sleeping. He recalls her indulgent dinner from the previous night, which makes him hungry. After leaving her room, he rides his old bicycle to work at Ming Xuan Pavilion, a struggling restaurant. Despite needing money to pay off debts, the stingy lady boss dismisses his request for an advance on his salary. As he works in the kitchen, he overhears her frustration about a coworker leaving, which brings him some satisfaction. Ye Feng feels trapped in his job but knows he must continue working to support himself and Lan Er.
