Chapter 87: Selling the Copyright to Novels and Fairy Tales!. [87]

Summary

Zhang Ye is struggling to find a job in the TV industry due to a "blackout" by Jing City Radio, who has connections in the industry and has informed their colleagues not to hire him. He receives instant rejections from every TV station he applies to, with some being polite and others being rude. Zhang Ye becomes determined to prove himself and decides to put his plans to enter the TV station on hold and focus on addressing the negative impact of his previous work, "Dead Water". He contacts his former radio station assistant, Xiao Fang, to ask for the phone number of a publisher who had expressed interest in publishing his book "The Ghost Blows Out the Light". Xiao Fang provides him with the phone number and tells him that the publisher is Beijing Education Press, one of the top publishers in Beijing. Zhang Ye contacts the publisher and they express interest in discussing the copyright for publication. They offer him a one-time buyout of 4 million yuan for the simplified Chinese publication rights, which Zhang Ye is pleased with.
