Chapter 87: Forming the Formation. [87]

Summary

"Fei Sheng, are you saying that old bald donkey has ascended?" Zhang Lao Si and Pang He Shang arrive, questioning their familiar surroundings. The half-old Taoist, uninterested, picks up a little fox and urges Yi Fan to stay close. They head toward a mountain resembling a bell. Pang He Shang reminds Zhang Lao Si of his past help in exorcising demons and reveals that the seal on a dangerous entity has weakened, prompting their return. Zhang Lao Si protests, claiming he has distanced himself from monk affairs, but Pang He Shang insists it's crucial for the world's safety. Reluctantly, Zhang Lao Si follows them to Dong Huang Mountain, where three monks meditate. The half-old Taoist and Yi Fan arrive, greeted warmly by the monks. Zhang Lao Si, despite his rough demeanor, joins the group. Shi Ran, a monk, initiates a gathering, and the tree behind them begins to transform, forming a protective formation. Shi Ran acknowledges Yi Fan's presence, suggesting his involvement is significant, and the half-old Taoist encourages Yi Fan to focus and trust him for guidance.
