Summary

The story revolves around Chen Jing Ji's complex relationships with his wife's family, particularly Lady Yue. After being separated from his wife Zhao Ying Chun, he attempts to meet Chun Mei through Sister Xue. Chun Mei is eventually sold to Master Zhou for fifty taels of silver. Chen Jing Ji becomes increasingly frustrated with his treatment by the family, feeling neglected and disrespected. He argues with the family members, expressing his anger about being denied proper meals and being ignored, ultimately threatening to take drastic actions against the women in the household.
