Summary

Zhang Xuan, seeking revenge for his stolen horse, heads to Zuo Huang Mountain, bypassing Jixian. He encounters Sui soldiers led by Governor Guo Xuan, who is investigating bandit activity linked to Lu Mingyue. Zhang Xuan claims to be a guard of the Yan Wang and convinces Guo Xuan to trust him, receiving a heavy iron spear and leading the troops toward Zuo Huang Mountain. Upon nearing their destination, Zhang Xuan detects an ambush, prompting Guo Xuan to send scouts. They confirm the ambush, and Song Jin Gang, a formidable general, challenges Guo Xuan's army to single combat. Wen Ji, Guo Xuan's top general, initially engages but is overpowered. Just as Wen Ji is about to be killed, Zhang Xuan intervenes, blocking Song Jin Gang's attack, surprising both sides with his strength and skill.
