Chapter 85: Lunchtime Lost in Novels. [84]
Summary
In this chapter, Mine Shiori becomes completely absorbed in a novel on Sawayama Haruno's phone during dinner, neglecting her food and causing Ayano Yui to feel jealous and regretful for not spending more time with her brother at the library. While Ayano is distracted, Haruno remains relaxed, focusing on his meal, aware that Shiori is likely speed-reading the text. When Shiori finally comes to, she realizes Haruno has stepped away. After returning home, Haruno finds his younger sister, Ayano, acting strangely and quickly rushing off to her own place. Inside the living room, Maki Miyazawa is entertaining a kitten named Salmon Balls, which has developed a habit of nibbling on her clothes. Haruno comforts Maki, pulling her into an embrace, where they share intimate moments and discuss her family issues, especially her difficult relationship with her mother. Maki is embarrassed by her feelings and the previous night's events but finds solace in Haruno's presence. The chapter concludes with the two seated on a couch, quietly holding each other while watching a soap opera, feeling a sense of peace and connection. Maki reflects on her growth and confidence, grateful for Haruno's support, and convinces herself to move forward positively.Full content
