Summary

In a Temple of the Gods, a mother and her young son, Ning Er, endure hunger and hardship. The mother, filled with guilt and sorrow, tries to comfort her child, who has not eaten for three days. When she approaches a powerful man for help, he scorns them, deepening their despair. Despite the disdain from others, a kind woman named Yu Xiao Xing offers food to Ning Er, who eagerly accepts and shares some with his mother. Grateful, the mother thanks Yu Xiao Xing, while Ning Er reveals their plight: they are fleeing danger after his father's death. The mother, alarmed by her son's honesty, reprimands him, highlighting their precarious situation.
