Summary

Wu Kong and his companions are on a journey to find the Penglai Immortal Island and the Kunlun Ruins. Traveling along the Eastern Sea, they encounter a massive sea monster, the Tide Beast, who reveals that the immortal island no longer exists in that region. Instead, they must face the Phantom Gate, a trial that tests their deepest fears. Wu Kong bravely volunteers to enter the whirlpool leading to the gate, where he experiences a haunting illusion of his childhood. Confronted by a sinister vision of his younger self, he realizes he must overcome his obsessions to progress. The illusion transforms into a Sea of Flames, which he bravely battles, ultimately leading him to a formidable stone gate that emanates an oppressive energy.
