Chapter 83: Opening the Coffin to See the 'Ghost' (2). [168]

Summary

Lu Gu ordered General Li to mobilize his soldiers to slay foreign tribes and save the people of Yaozhou City, promising to report his merits to the Son of Heaven. However, General Li scoffed at the idea, feeling underappreciated and unrewarded for his services. He and his soldiers began to rebel, drawing their swords and setting up defensive lines. General Li killed Sima Chasing the Wind, the governor of Yaozhou, and revealed his true intentions: to purify the world of Great Jin and allow his brothers to seize wealth and glory through violence. He also revealed that he was a cultist of Tian Gui, and his nickname "Open the Coffin" referred to the idea that when the coffin is opened, only ghosts can be seen, symbolizing the end of Great Jin's national fortune. Many of his soldiers were under his control, but some, including a bearded general, were shocked and tried to flee, only to be killed by General Li.
