Summary

Lu Sheng, after memorizing an intermediate textbook in a reading room, encounters an old man who silently observes him. Upon attempting to leave, Lu Sheng finds the exit locked but manages to break free thanks to the old man's intervention. Later, Professor Serse discusses the library's dual nature—day and night—and the dangers of the night library's gatekeeper. Back in his dorm, Lu Sheng transcribes the textbook and begins enhancing his abilities using the Intermediate Codex, discovering its complexity and potential for evolution. He realizes the university's role in determining students' abilities through organ transplants from void creatures, enhancing his own powers in the process.
