Summary

Wang Gui led 3,000 cavalrymen south, preparing for a surprise attack on an enemy camp of 30,000 troops near Wangting Town. They muffled their horses' hooves with cloth to remain silent as they approached the camp, which was unaware of their presence. Meanwhile, Zhang Shun infiltrated the camp with his men and captured two patrol soldiers for information. As chaos erupted from fires set in the camp, Wang Gui ordered his cavalry to charge. The 3,000 cavalry quickly overwhelmed the enemy, capturing 23,000 soldiers and killing over 2,000 with minimal injuries on their side. Later, Li Yan Qing addressed the captured prisoners, explaining their participation in a rebellion and offering them a choice: return home with increased burdens or join his army to redeem themselves.
