Summary

Wang Fu convinces Zhu Meng, the king of Goguryeo, to maintain a friendly relationship with the Han Dynasty by offering to share a pickling technique to preserve vegetables during winter. Zhu Meng agrees and Wang Fu returns to Youzhou, reporting his success to Liu Mang. Liu Mang plans to use this opportunity to prepare his troops in Youzhou and eventually attack Goguryeo when Zhu Meng's young son is still immature. Meanwhile, Liu Mang writes a letter to his father, Liu Bei, informing him of his plans and requesting to take over Han Sheng's position among the Five Tiger Generals. Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang approve of Liu Mang's request.
