Summary

In Xuzhou, Li Zhuo Hui, a staff officer, reports on the identity of a fallen soldier, Fang Mu, during a meeting with fellow officers. Fang Mu, an experienced scout, had volunteered for a dangerous mission outside the city, ultimately leading to his death. Luo Ye, the commander of special forces, proposes a proactive strategy to attack the enemy, Wang Shi Tong, rather than waiting passively for the Jurchens to strike. He argues that the starving ghosts outside the city are a liability and that taking action could boost morale and scatter the desperate population. After discussion, Liu Cheng Zong agrees to refine the plan and take action against Wang Shi Tong as spring approaches. Meanwhile, the Jurchen army is retreating from Linzhou, with the Ming Wang army pursuing them.
