Summary

Li Yan Qing, accompanied by Zheng Wang Zhi, visits the Empress Dowager to discuss the urgent need for a new ruler due to the capture of both the Emperor and the retired Emperor by the Jurchens. They propose that Prince Kang Zhao Gou, known for his abilities, ascend the throne instead of the young Duke Da Ning Zhao Chen, who is only seven years old. The Empress Dowager, initially considering the legitimacy of Duke Da Ning, ultimately agrees to support Prince Kang's ascension after realizing the political implications and risks involved.
