Transmigration in the 70s: Taking the Courtyard to the Countryside as a Young Educator

Chapter 80: Finally Found [79]

Summary

Several people were left empty-handed after searching a deserted house. They focused on Li Tao, who insisted he knew nothing about the situation involving Wang Er and Hu Zi. Yang Yu questioned Li Tao's credibility, considering he had a motive to catch Hu Zi. Li Tao admitted he had given Hu Zi up to Wang Er, who was known for his violent tendencies. The group decided to wait for the police instead of pursuing Wang Er themselves, as they felt it was too dangerous. Meanwhile, Zhang Chen, who had rushed in to help Hu Zi, found himself tied up by Wang Er, who taunted him about the fate of his female comrade and another woman. Despite Zhang Chen's attempts to persuade Wang Er to confess and let them go, Wang Er remained indifferent. As the police arrived, they were informed of Wang Er's whereabouts and the three captives. They planned to search nearby houses, but Best Wishes pointed out a location where smoke was rising, suspecting it was Wang Er's hideout. They approached cautiously, and upon entering, found Zhang Chen and the others. Cui Hua rushed to Zhang Chen, and they quickly untied him. Hu Zi was unconscious but eventually revived, and Aunt Jin Hua had been found and returned by the police. After giving their statements at the station, the group returned home, relieved after the day's frightening events.
