Summary

Fu Ting Jian and Cheng Yun Niang anxiously awaited the return of their children, Jing Hui and Fu Ling Su, who had gone to rent an ox cart. Upon their return, the family discovered that the children had instead arrived in a carriage, raising concerns about the cost. Jing Hui explained that he had pawned a jade ring for silver to buy supplies for their journey. As they traveled, heavy snow began to fall, complicating their route. They sought shelter at a household that was rumored to be empty, but the family pressed on. The coachman complained about the job, while Fu Jing Hui carried his father inside, causing a humorous exchange about dignity between Fu Ting Jian and Cheng Yun Niang.
