Chapter 8: Breakup... [19]

Summary

Hao Qi returns to his routine of school and martial arts practice, feeling anxious as he approaches the peak of his Arhat Fist training. Su Shi Yan criticizes him for lacking sincerity in his practice, prompting Hao Qi to reflect on his dedication despite her misunderstanding. They discuss Hao Qi's upcoming 19th birthday, which he believes will be pivotal for his future. Su Shi Yan, aware of his background and potential, expresses her desire to recruit him, but she will be away during his birthday. As his birthday nears, Hao Qi waits for his friend Lin Xiong to deliver money but grows worried when Lin doesn't show. Eventually, he learns from a delinquent that Lin is unavailable. Concerned for Lin's safety, Hao Qi searches for him and discovers Lin in a chaotic neighborhood. He overhears Lin dismissing their friendship, revealing that he no longer sees value in supporting Hao Qi, especially after Hao Qi rejected an offer from the Li Family for a better martial art. Feeling a mix of desolation and acceptance of reality, Hao Qi returns to campus, reflecting on the nature of their relationship. Meanwhile, Lin Xiong, after Hao Qi leaves, engages in a tumultuous interaction with a woman, revealing his own struggles and fears about their precarious situation. Lin's emotional turmoil suggests a deeper conflict as he grapples with his choices and the harsh realities of their world.
