Summary

Li Laizi returns home from General Li's temple to find his father-in-law, Huang De Yong, waiting. They discuss the fallout from a banquet where Li Laizi offended Han Cai Yuan, a skilled farmer. Huang dismisses the threat posed by Han and suggests a plan to undermine him by moving him to a less profitable position. Li Laizi agrees, seeing this as a way to eliminate competition. Meanwhile, the Han family, led by Han Gang, is furious about Li Laizi's actions and plots revenge. Han Gang, feeling powerless, resolves to secure an official position to protect his family and retaliate against Li Laizi, believing that knowledge and status will ensure his safety.
