Summary

Du Fuwei's last secret grain warehouse in Tong'an County is managed by Lv Fei, a former rogue who has pledged loyalty to Du Fuwei. As the Sui army encircles them, Lv Fei and his twin brother, Lv Ping, debate whether to ally with Lord Lin or surrender to the Sui army. Lv Ping suggests aligning with the Sui, believing they offer better prospects for their future. They recall their friend Shen Guang, who could help them make contact with the Sui. Meanwhile, four messengers from the Sui army arrive at the warehouse but are poisoned. Zhang Xuan, the Sui commander, learns of the warehouse's location and the brothers' willingness to surrender. He offers them titles and wealth in exchange for acting as spies against Lin Shi Hong. The brothers agree, motivated by the promise of lasting prosperity for their families.
