Summary

Zhang Wei Yang returns to Xianbei Mountain after seven months, greeted warmly by the Xianbei people. However, he feels uneasy, recalling his last visit in winter. Observing the summer landscape, he notes the presence of slaves working the land with outdated bronze tools, which merchants export to potential enemies, raising his concerns about future threats. As he meets a Xianbei noble, he is disturbed by the sight of severed heads at the stone chamber entrance, indicating internal strife among the Xianbei. Meanwhile, Qiu Keju, the Xianbei leader, dreams of uniting tribes and challenging Han Chao, unaware of the overwhelming military superiority of the Han. Zhang Wei Yang, now a formidable figure, enters the chamber, highlighting the stark contrast between him and the Xianbei.
