Calamities in Journey to the West? My heart and form are both void.

Chapter 78: A Few Points about the Human World. [78]

Summary

In the mortal realm, the heat of the Great Sun overwhelms pedestrians, causing discomfort and complaints. Amidst this, a disheveled Taoist sleeps against a wall, ignored by passersby who express disdain. A little girl, feeling compassion, offers him food, while a boy criticizes her kindness. They argue about the Taoist's laziness, but the girl decides to fetch him water. Upon receiving it, the Taoist drinks eagerly, prompting the boy's outrage at his shamelessness. The Taoist claims to be a practitioner who no longer needs food, but the boy scoffs at his appearance. The Taoist then offers to tell the girl's fortune as a gesture of thanks.
