Summary

Zhang Hu visits Li Yan Qing to report on He Nan, a double agent who revealed that Wanyan Xie from the Jin Kingdom requested a formula for the Thunderous Explosive and sought a meeting with Wang Fu. Li Yan Qing suspects Wang Fu may have ties to the Jin Kingdom and instructs Zhang Hu to monitor Cai Jing and Wang Fu closely. Meanwhile, Zhao Huan learns from Wu Min that the retired emperor, Zhao Ji, is attempting to regain power by contacting old officials, which angers Zhao Huan. Wu Min suggests that a coup d'état might be Zhao Ji's only option. They discuss the need for a loyal army, with Wu Min advising Zhao Huan to promote Dong Ping while dealing with Li Yan Qing carefully. Zhao Huan decides to focus on eliminating Wang Fu and other threats before addressing Li Yan Qing, ultimately commanding Li Gang to resign from his position as Prime Minister.
