Summary

Cao Rui, the young emperor, felt uneasy upon hearing that Cao Ren and Xiahou Shang had returned unharmed from battle. Queen Guo, however, was delighted. Cao Rui summoned Cao Ren and questioned him, hinting that he may have submitted to the Shu forces. Cao Ren and Xiahou Shang stood united, and Cao Rui's goodwill towards his kin had diminished. Meanwhile, Jiang Ji urged Sun Quan to ally with Cao Wei and attack Guan Yu in Xuzhou, but Zhuge Jin opposed the idea, citing principles. Sun Quan decided to unite with Cao Wei and kill Guan Yu.
