Summary

Zhang Xuan realizes the imminent change in Nakahara after Yuwen Huaji's raid and quickly mobilizes troops to counter the Wagang army. He sends commands to various generals to coordinate an attack, while also reaching out to Wang Shichong for an alliance against Li Yuan. Meanwhile, Yuwen Huaji faces panic after the annihilation of his forces and plans a secret retreat to Dongping County, leaving behind many officials. As he escapes with a small army and wealth, he encounters a pursuing cavalry force. In a desperate attempt to flee, Yuwen Huaji abandons his soldiers and is ultimately captured after fainting from fear. Pei Xingyan, leading the Sui cavalry, decides to escort Yuwen Huaji to prison while preparing to ambush the pursuing Wagang forces.
